Port Harcourt based Nigeria Premier Football League outfit, Rivers United Football Club, has secured the signature of former Super Eagles gaffer Finidi George as its Technical Adviser on a two-year contract.
The Former Enyimba tactician once played for the defunct Sharks football club of Port Harcourt before going in search of greener pastures in Europe.
The Rivers born and ex Enyimba title winning coach went unto lifting the Dutch league title for three seasons (1993 to 1996) with AFC Ajax, where he also won the prestigious UEFA Champions League.

However, Finito, as he is fondly called by his fans won the 1994 AFCON, also representing Nigeria in the FIFA World Cup the same year. Back home, he guided Enyimba to their ninth NPFL title in the 2022/2023 season before going on to take the Super Eagles job, a position he left after a few months.
Finidi will replace the long serving Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma who left the club at the end of the season.
