The 8th Edition of the National Youth Games, was officially opened by the Honourable Minister of Youths and Sports Development Senator John Owan Enoh, today at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta State.

The minister urged athletes, officials and the sports ministry to give proper attention to the youth games, while noting that the aim of the games was to discover talents and nurture them for future competitions.

He also added that the age limit for the games should be brought back to 17 years and below .

Over 36 sports will be competed by over 100 athletes across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT. The games which will begin today will end on the 19th of September.
