One of Nigeria’s representatives at the 13th Edition of the African Games held in Accra, Ghana, between 8th and 23rd March, 2024 and Silver medalist, Favour Agboro has expressed his appreciation and admiration for the President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul for his supporting towards a successful outting.
While speaking to vcsports.sport.blog in an exclusive interview, he said that Dr. Abdul together with the Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh made sure all allowances were paid to the athletes while in Ghana.

“We thank God for the effort of our federation and the Hon. Min. for his support even though our bonuses are being delayed but the competition went well.
“Our allowance was really a surprise. They paid our allowance in Ghana and everybody was smiling but the preparation to the competition was a bit poor. In a federation like ours, the president is just like a father to us because he has been the one sponsoring the athletes that are going for Olympic qualifiers.”
Favour, who had previously represented Nigeria in the 2017 Junior Championship in Uganda where he won 3 Silver medals and 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia, won 1 Bronze and 2 Silver medals in the 61kg category at the African Games.
